Years back, I found joy in crafting cloths and bedding for my niece's dolls. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for working with fabrics. Visiting fabric stores became a thrilling adventure for me. Seeing all the beautiful patterns and feeling the cotton and linen fabrics filled me with excitement as I envisioned the items I could craft from them. Soon after I began making my own wallets and bags, I couldn't wait to share them with others.
Jewelry
When I was about 10 years old, I began making jewelry as a hobby. I used to go door to door in my neighborhood to sell my pieces. My father, who has mixed Native American heritage, practiced indigenous-style beading. He used to take me to New England pow-wows, where we could admire beads and jewelry together. Since I was very young, my father's craftwork has inspired me to create my own pieces of art.
Appreciating the intimate quality of natural materials such as freshwater pearls, crystals, and other gemstones, I draw inspiration from my connection to the natural world. In handcrafting my jewelry, I intend to invite the energies of earth into our lives.
